Let’s Go There

In the BAFTA winning trail, Factory Fifteen immerse viewers in a celebratory visual feast for the BBC’s 2020 Tokyo Olympics’. We were briefed to create this special Behind the Scenes film to demonstrate the creative process and power of transformation; showcasing just how the epic spot takes audiences on a whistle-stop tour through the idiosyncratic and exciting megacity by reimagining Tokyo with Olympic athletes and events embedded into its fabric and culture. Street signs, shops, arcades, gashapon parlours and homes are all authentically augmented with sports and their stars thrust centre-stage.

Working closely with Nexus and Factory Fifteen we built this behind the scenes to transition smoothly between the original spot and creative exploration. The continuous flowing camera allow the viewer to explore the array of original artwork designed by Nexus Director and contemporary artist, Fantasista Utamaro, along with the exquisite CG work from both The Mill and Factory Fifteen.
